Safety and Use
The BabyBoarder Stick is a snowboard training aid designed to help an adult guide a beginner rider while the rider develops balance, stance, and basic board-control skills. Snowboarding involves inherent risks, including falls, collisions, and serious injury. The BabyBoarder Stick does not eliminate those risks and is not a substitute for qualified instruction, attentive adult supervision, or appropriate protective equipment.
Adult Supervision Required
The BabyBoarder Stick must only be installed and operated by a responsible adult who:
- Is a competent snowboarder capable of maintaining control.
- Has read and understood all product instructions and warnings.
- Remains in control of their own movement and speed.
- Closely supervises the child throughout use.
- Can recognize changing terrain, weather, snow, traffic, and equipment conditions.
Never leave a child unattended while attached to a snowboard.
Intended Use
The BabyBoarder Stick is intended for:
- Beginner snowboard instruction under direct adult supervision.
- Use with compatible youth snowboard and binding setups.
- Slow, controlled practice on suitable beginner terrain.
- Helping an adult guide the rider during early skill development.
It is not:
- A safety restraint, leash, towing device, lifting device, or fall-arrest system.
- A substitute for snowboard instruction.
- Intended to guarantee balance, control, or protection from falls.
- Designed for jumps, terrain parks, racing, tricks, high speeds, steep terrain, or uncontrolled conditions.
- Intended for use while loading, riding, or unloading a chairlift, conveyor, rope tow, or other lift unless the lift operator expressly permits it and the product instructions specifically authorize that use.
Protective Equipment
The child and supervising adult should wear:
- A properly fitted, snow-sports-certified helmet.
- Properly fitted snowboard boots and bindings.
- Suitable eye protection.
- Weather-appropriate clothing and gloves.
- Any additional protective equipment recommended by a qualified instructor or local resort.
Protective equipment can reduce certain risks but cannot prevent all injuries.
Before Every Use
Inspect the BabyBoarder Stick, snowboard, bindings, and connection points before each session.
Confirm that:
- Every component is present and correctly assembled.
- The product is installed according to the supplied instructions.
- All fasteners and adjustment points are fully secured.
- The attachment does not interfere with bindings, boots, binding release or adjustment mechanisms, or normal snowboard operation.
- The grips and connection points are secure.
- No component is cracked, bent, loose, worn, corroded, or otherwise damaged.
- The product remains securely attached after a gentle pull-and-movement check.
- The snowboard and bindings are in serviceable condition.
Do not use the product if any part is damaged, altered, improperly fitted, or difficult to secure. Contact BabyBoarder before further use.
Choosing a Practice Area
Begin only in a controlled area that is:
- Flat or very gently sloped.
- Open, visible, and free of obstacles.
- Away from vehicles, roads, trees, lift equipment, drop-offs, crowds, and other hazards.
- Appropriate for the abilities of both the child and supervising adult.
- Permitted by the resort, snow school, or property operator.
Progress gradually. Do not move to steeper, faster, or busier terrain until the child can demonstrate appropriate control and a qualified instructor considers the terrain suitable.
Always follow posted signs, resort rules, the responsibility code applicable in your location, and instructions from ski patrol, instructors, and lift operators.
How to Use
- Read the instructions. Become familiar with installation, removal, hand positions, and release procedures before entering snow traffic.
- Install the product. Attach it only at the specified connection points and according to the supplied instructions.
- Verify the connection. Check all fasteners, clearances, and adjustment points.
- Practice while stationary. Introduce the child to stance, balance, and the function of the product on level ground.
- Start slowly. Begin on flat or very gentle terrain at walking speed.
- Maintain a stable position. The adult must remain balanced and avoid abrupt pulling, pushing, twisting, or lifting.
- Guide rather than tow. Use only the amount of assistance needed. Never drag the child or use the product to propel the snowboard.
- Keep clear of moving parts. Keep hands, clothing, hair, straps, and loose items away from bindings and connection points.
- Increase independence gradually. Reduce assistance only when conditions are safe and the child demonstrates readiness.
- Recheck frequently. Inspect the attachment after falls, impacts, adjustments, transportation, and extended use.
Stop Use Immediately If
Stop and move to a safe area if:
- The product becomes loose or changes position.
- Any component appears damaged or unusually flexible.
- The attachment interferes with the rider, snowboard, boots, or bindings.
- The adult or child loses control.
- The child falls or reports pain or discomfort.
- Visibility, snow, weather, or traffic conditions deteriorate.
- The terrain becomes unsuitable.
- Resort staff or an instructor directs you to stop.
After any fall or impact, inspect the product and snowboard setup completely before resuming.

- Tow the child behind a person, vehicle, snowmobile, bicycle, lift, or other device.
- Lift, carry, swing, or suspend a child using the product.

- Use it at high speed or on terrain beyond the abilities of either participant.
- Use it for jumps, rails, boxes, tricks, racing, or terrain-park features.
